Yesterday, the Husband of Joy was installed as Chief Electrician here on the ship, the job he'll be doing until the end of the outreach here in Togo. When he came to the ship, he had never been trained as an electrician. Over the last two years, he's learned and grown and now he's got three stripes on his epaulets. I don't know if I could be any prouder of him.

Today is his birthday, and I keep thinking about all the birthdays we're going to spend together. About all the adventures we have left to live until we're old and grey, and just thinking about being old and grey with him is like hot tea on a snowy afternoon.
Not that I really remember snow.
What I'm trying to say, I guess, is that I love this guy, and I figured I'd mention it.
Also, I'd like to mention just how encouraged I've been by all of you. Your comments and e-mails and verses shared have honestly meant the world to me right now, and I find myself filled with something that feels a lot like peace.
Two days down, eight months and twenty-eight days to go!
Blessing , happiness, all the best that God's hold's in His hands for both of you.
In Christian Love
