made in sierra leone

Without further ado, I'd like to present the reason for my lack of blogging over the past couple months.



We're due August fourteenth, and we're more excited than I can possibly put into words.

Much more to come on this and many other subjects, but for now I'm heading to bed. At least now I don't have to make excuses about why I'm so tired!

Ali, you don't know me but I've been a regular reader of your blog for a while now. So many times I have sat here and cried over the stories you tell. Today, these ones are some good tears!

I feel a little silly getting all misty over some one who doesn't know me and a baby I likely never meet- but congratulations! I am genuinely happy for you guys and pray all kinds of blessings your way, from Liverpool, England to Togo!

Finally getting a chance to catch up on your blog and WOW! am so excited for you guys! August is a great birth month (having an August birthday myself :-).

And I love, love the onesie! Having 3 children of my own, I can tell you that cute onsies in the midst of summer's heat is must!

I'm Ali; twenty-eight years old, and married to Phil, an electrician, also known as The Husband of Joy (HoJ for short). We live on board the world's largest non-governmental hospital ship, the M/V Africa Mercy, where we work with Mercy Ships to bring hope and healing to the forgotten poor in West Africa. The whole crew, from cook to captain, is made up of volunteers from more than thirty countries who are dedicated to bringing the love of Jesus to the world.
