My husband, two kids and I are across the other side of the world from our (also very close-knit) family because we love Jesus too. I read your post and identified so much with what you say. It's hard, isn't it?! Thanks for reminding us all (including yourself!) that the gospel is a such a worthwhile reason to be far away.
My 11 year old daughter was quick to point out the following:
"She doesn't turn her back on her family. She cradles them in her heart, and serves them with her example."
I have to agree. Following what the Lord would have you do is harder than anything in the whole world, sometimes. That sweet little baby has such a gift in you. You aren't turning your back on them, though you might feel it so. You aren't holding them lightly. You are showing them the way.
