She is so beautiful and perfect, and your story brought tears to my eyes. I wouldn't change a thing about my children who were born in a far away country, but oh how I wish I could have experienced their births. I hope you don't stop blogging. I am always happy to see your posts.

Congratulations!! I have been following your journey for some time now, and as I've loved your stories about the ship and Africa, I know I will love reading about your life as a new mom. Zoe is perfect. And your joy, happiness and love simply rise up off the page.

Congratulations, again. She's beautiful.

When you announced her name I was thrilled...such a beautiful choice but it wasn't until reading this blog that I mentally said her full name to hear the sound of it, and it's even MORE beautiful. ZOE CHANDRA. WOW :-) Thanks for sharing Ali

Congrats Ali!

You are so blessed!

Your birth story made me cry. As I prepare for the arrival of my own little one, and all the fears of all of the possible discomforts and complications begin to creep in, all I ask is that when I'm a week or 2 postpartum, I can look at my labor and the birth of my baby with as much joy as you do.
She is so precious and beautiful!

Such a beautiful story. Please keep writing in whatever way you can, Ali.

Oooh, back labor. Ouchie. I've heard from very dear friends what that is like, and while I've had my own particular struggles with labor, I've never had that one. You brave, strong woman--I can attest to stubbornness being a marvelous trait when you are determined to have a medication-free birth. And Zoe is better for it, I'm sure. :-)
