Well said, mama. I pray for you all every day. All I would add is that the definition of a good day will never be the same, that when the trivial things cease to matter, a good day becomes any day that you and those you love are simply breathing.

Yes! I love this! Hopefully others who have been on this road longer than we have will keep adding their wisdom. :-)

You always make me cry... or laugh, smile, reflect, feel grateful... your words are so powerful and impeccably written. I always look forward to all your beautiful photos, updates and information. You are an inspiring mother and person, I hope there is someone out there that makes your day everyday just like you and your beautiful family make mine! I’m always praying for little Ethan and your family. Thanks for letting us into your world- you’re so brave.

Ali, What a beautiful, thoughtful and eloquent writer you are. I am a friend of the McNab's from NS and have a son, Joseph (now 10), who was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries. He had 8 hours of open heart surgery at 10 days old, and while I fully recognize our stories with our boys are very different, I resonate with much of what you share. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
